Everything changes.
That’s the truth we spend a lifetime learning how to live with. People come and go. Seasons shift. Laughter fades into silence. Pain softens into memory. The moments we try to hold onto slip through our fingers like grains of sand, no matter how tightly we close our fists.
You blink, and the child you once were is now just a photograph. The voices that once filled your home become echoes you strain to remember. Love arrives, burns brightly, and sometimes leaves without warning. Even joy, in all its beauty, is fleeting soaring high, only to settle into stillness.
It’s heartbreaking, isn’t it? To know that nothing lasts. That the things we cherish our happiest days, the people we love most, the very skin we live in are all destined to change, to age, to end.
But in that ache is something strangely sacred.
